September 2026. That’s when the industry heads back to Tekirdağ. The Faculty of Agriculture at Namık Kemal University has confirmed it will host the 16th International Congress on Agricultural Mechanization and Energy (TRAKAGENG2026) from September 2–4. It’s a massive milestone—this event has a 37-year track record behind it.
The organizers aren't trying to niche this down. They’ve kept the scope intentionally broad. You’re going to see papers on standard agricultural mechanization and tractor tech right alongside the newer stuff—precision agriculture, biomaterials, and digital farming applications. It makes sense. You can’t tackle things like climate change or sustainable agricultural technologies in a vacuum. You need the whole picture, from the energy source to the sensors in the dirt.
The format isn’t just sitting in a dark room watching slides, either. Yes, there are oral and poster presentations. But the schedule is packed with panel discussions, workshops, and technical tours. The committee, led by Prof. Dr. İlker Hüseyin ÇELEN, wants actual dialogue between the academics, the public sector, and the private industry reps. They need these groups talking to each other, not just at each other.
There is also a big push for student involvement this time. The Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Project/Design Competition 2026 is back. The call to action for professors is pretty blunt: get your undergraduate and graduate students to enter. It’s a solid chance for them to test their design chops in front of the people who actually hire for these jobs.
English is the official language. If you want in, the clock is already ticking on the logistics. Abstract submissions close June 15, 2026. Payment and final registration wrap up by July 1. It seems like a long way off, but for an event of this size, the deadlines will hit fast.

Glossary
- Precision agriculture: Using location data to manage field variability. Basically, treating different parts of the field differently to save money and boost yield.
- Digital farming applications: The software side of farming. Real-time data monitoring and automation tools.
- Biomaterials: Biological stuff used to replace synthetic materials in ag-tech. Big part of the sustainability push.
